Born in Nashville, Tennessee, EeJay relocated to Lagos, Nigeria with her family shortly after she turned four years old, and spent her formative years in the heart of the city. Some of her fondest childhood memories involve her reading everything she could get her hands on, and writing stories to entertain her sisters and friends.

At sixteen, EeJay returned to Tennessee to attend university. Eight years and two degrees later—a Bachelor’s in Chemistry from Middle Tennessee State University and a doctor of pharmacy from the University of Tennessee—she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she began her career in clinical pharmacy. She completed a one-year, post-graduate residency at the former Atlanta Medical Center and was hired on at Cartersville Medical Center into the clinical pharmacy manager position. For the last decade, she has worked to ensure the safe and appropriate use of medications in hospitalized patients while serving as adjunct faculty for nearby pharmacy schools, precepting and training future pharmacists.

Despite choosing a science-based profession and enjoying her career thus far, EeJay never truly abandoned her story-writing habits. The six-year-old who spent an entire summer vacation in England traipsing in and out of libraries and reading novels, and the teenager who would fill notebooks with handwritten stories was always there. She began working on her debut novel when she realized that pharmacists were underrepresented as leading characters in media and works of fiction.

EeJay currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and when she’s not at work, she’s reading, writing, playing tennis, or watching sports: Futbol, football, basketball, tennis, you name it. Go Gunners!
